The Studio at Velvet Mill is located inside the historic 135-year-old Velvet Mill in Stonington Borough, in Southeastern CT. Steps from Stonington Harbor, the studio is easily accessible from nearby cities:

ENTRANCE
Enter through the black double doors at the corner of Bayview and Meadow Avenues—the back of the building, not the front entrance. The closest parking is on Meadow Avenue. Continue past the main parking for the Velvet Mill, and turn left onto Meadow Avenue to park behind the building.
ARRIVING BY TRAIN
Take Amtrak to Mystic, and use Uber, Lyft, or a taxi for the last three miles to The Studio.
Discover the Velvet Mill
Built in 1888 to encourage economic development, the Velvet Mill operated as a velvet manufacturer for 100 years. Today, it has been reimagined as a collaborative community home to artists, craftspeople, small businesses, restaurants, and entrepreneurs, including The Studio at Velvet Mill.
Saturday Mornings
The Velvet Mill hosts a popular farmers’ market, with shops open, bustling with visitors and their dogs. The Velvet Mill and The Studio at Velvet Mill are safe spaces welcoming people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, sexualities, genders, abilities, ages, and sizes.

Access The Studio with a keypad for private, and discrete entry, ideal for sensitive content or talent. Ample free, safe parking is available.
RESTROOMS
Accessible restrooms are located nearby outside The Studio within the Velvet Mill.
ON-SITE FOOD
Restaurants, bakeries, coffees hops, and bars are available within the building.
LOADING EQUIPMENT
Equipment can be loaded through double doors at the corner of Bayview and Meadow Avenues with one step up and two steps down. Alternatively, you may use the ramp at the front entrance with a freight elevator to reach the studio. (Use of the freight elevator requires pre-approval, so please let us know when you book.)
