The Studio at Velvet Mill maintains policies, terms, and conditions to ensure a safe environment for all visitors. Please read these policies carefully and understand that you, as renter, are responsible for upholding them. You are also responsible for the actions of your clients and guests. The Studio at Velvet Mill has the right to modify policies without advance notice. The information stated here supersedes any previous policies, terms, and conditions.

The Studio at Velvet Mill is a place where all kinds of people can create. We share the Velvet Mill with other businesses and creators, and have a wall of windows facing private residences. 

In order to keep things clean, safe, and maintained, the following items and activities are prohibited:

• No illegal drugs are permitted in The Studio at Velvet Mill or the Velvet Mill campus

• No smoking of anything is permitted in the The Studio at Velvet Mill or the Velvet Mill campus

• No weapons including firearms and knives are permitted in The Studio at Velvet Mill or the Velvet Mill campus

• No creation of sexually explicit visual content is permitted in the The Studio at Velvet Mill without express written consent in advance

Renters are responsible for all damage caused by anyone in their party. Damage fees will be assessed at the discretion of The Studio at Velvet Mill.

Please leave the studio the way you found it: clean and orderly. If the studio is left messy or dirty, damage and/or cleaning fees will be assessed at the discretion of The Studio at Velvet Mill. 

• Clean up your trash and place items where you found them, neatly, before you leave. This includes, but is not limited to, glitter, confetti, and trash including food and drink waste. Vacuum or remove trash if needed.

• Please don’t put food, beverages, and diapers in our trash. Please take out any wet, stinky, or sticky garbage with you.

• You are welcome to use the props, furniture, or equipment in the studio. Respect the studio and furnishings. Don’t mistreat it or drag couches or props around: pick them up to move, otherwise it scratches the floor. Damage or cleaning fees will be assessed at the discretion of The Studio at Velvet Mill.

• Handle the backdrops carefully. No cake smashes without prior written approval. If you perform cake smashes on our backdrops, you will be charged for cleaning and replacement as needed.

• If you consume alcohol before or during your visit to The Studio at Velvet Mill or the Velvet Mill campus, you do so at your discretion. If you are disorderly or disruptive, you will be fined and the police may be called. No underage drinking is permitted.

• Dogs are welcome in The Studio at Velvet Mill and the Velvet Mill, so long as they are leashed and/or in a crate when in shared spaces. If there are damages in The Studio at Velvet Mill or the Velvet Mill caused by your pet, you will be held responsible. The Studio at Velvet Mill assumes no liability for your pet and the actions of your pet while visiting the studio. Damage or cleaning fees will be assessed at the discretion of The Studio at Velvet Mill.

• Shut off the lights, turn off the heat or air conditioner, and lock the deadbolt as you leave.

Reschedule, Cancelation, and Refund Policy

• Bookings are paid when you book. The Studio at Velvet Mill does not offer cancelation or refund.

• You can reschedule using the the buttons at the bottom of your confirmation email. Once you are within 48 hours of your booking, you cannot reschedule. This is because late changes take available studio time away from others.

• If you fail to show up for your booked session, you forfeit payment. No refunds are permitted.

• The time you book includes setup and cleanup time. If you are not out of the studio at the time you booked, an overtime fee will be assessed at the discretion of The Studio at Velvet Mill.

The Studio at Velvet Mill is not liable for physical injury or damage to your property or that of anyone in your party.

While we hope this never happens, if you violate these policies, The Studio at Velvet Mill may revoke your access to book the studio.

Acknowledgment: by booking a session at The Studio at Velvet Mill, you agree to be governed by these policies, terms, and conditions. You are responsible for everyone in your party. All visitors and guests are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of these policies, terms, and conditions.
